A Far Cry is pleased to announce Season 4: History of the Night. Check out the Concerts page for a look at the 34 performances already on the books, with more likely to be added as they are confirmed. Musically there is something for everyone, from new commisions by Richard Cornell and Shiori Usui and contemporary classics by Osvaldo Golijov and Gabriela Frank to romantic mega-hits by Tchaikovsky and Elgar to baroque masterpieces by Purcell and Handel. The residency at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum starts in earnest next season, with four major concerts, and our important partnership with the New England Conservatory continues with two gala concerts at Jordan Hall bookending the season.
We have a formidable lineup of guest soloists, including intrepid pianist Joel Fan with a Mozart concerto, inquisitive violinist Anthony Marwood with a Schumann cello concerto (!), and the dynamic duo of Jason Vieaux on guitar and Julien Labro on bandoneon for a new version of Piazzolla’s Four Seasons of Buenos Aires.
Oh, and one last thing: if you scroll all the way to the bottom of the Concerts page, you will find another A Far Cry first – a collaboration with wind and brass players in an unconducted rendition of Schubert’s Fifth Symphony.
Cry on!
