Israeli violinist Sharon Cohen considers playing music to be both her career and her favorite hobby. This season, while on on sabbatical from A Far Cry, Sharon has moved back to Tel Aviv in order to join the critically acclaimed Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. During her Boston years, Sharon completed her Masters of Music degree from the New England Conservatory, and has also co-founded Boston's self-conducted Chamber Orchestra 'A Far Cry’.

Addicted to music making, Sharon is regularly found running from one rehearsal to the next, whether playing with a large orchestra or in a small chamber music group. As a chamber musician she has collaborated with various artists including Yo Yo Ma, Pinchas Zukerman, Ray Chen, and Guy Braunstein and has performed in festivals across America, Europe and Israel such as the Salzburg Festival, the BBC Proms in London, and The Jerusalem Chamber Music Festival.

Sharon is also a member of the West Eastern Divan Orchestra, which brings together Israelis and Arabs under the Baton of Maestro Daniel Barenboim, for the purpose of promoting dialogue and coexistence. This season the orchestra will be performing the complete Beethoven Symphonies in Carnegie Hall, NY, in celebration of a newly released CD recording of all symphonies.
